AZ Driving Courses

Air Brake Training covers legislation, regulations, air brake systems and components, and correct procedures required to safely operate a vehicle equipped with an air brake system. The drivers of vehicles equipped with air brakes are required to have the ‘Air Brake Endorsement’ as part of their current license classification. You will prepare for this endorsement while taking the air brake course.

Upon completion of the air brake course, you will be issued an ‘Air Brake Endorsement’. Now you are ready to write a Knowledge test at the registry.

Melt Program

MELT for Class 1 driver licence applicants is a prerequisite effective October 18, 2021. Drivers seeking a Class 1 commercial licence must first complete mandatory entry-level training (MELT). MELT consists of 113 hours training:

NON-VOCATIONAL PROGRAM

DZ Driving Courses

(This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005)

Class D licenses can be used to drive any truck or vehicle combination exceeding 11,000 kilograms, provided that the towed vehicle weighs is not over 4,600 kg. If the vehicle exceeds these limits then either a full Class A or restricted Class A license will be needed. DZ licenses can be used for vehicles such as straight trucks, dump trucks, and cement trucks with air brakes.
